“There’s a very high degree of pollution in the city. Will you consider taking the bus instead of driving your car?”

Various versions of this type of billboard has been posted along roads here in Bergen in Norway. But asking a person with a car to take the bus instead in this country is really pointless; it’s -21 degrees celsius and nobody in their right mind wants to walk to the busstop and wait for it to arrive, especially when busses at this time of year get cancelled without warning.

So either force people to use public transportation (only one car per household and triple the price on fuel or something,) or just leave it be, because nobody really wants to take a bus these days if they don’t have to.

For the record, I take the bus and I don’t have a driver’s license. I figure if I did get a car, I’d get lazy and fat in a month.
