"Life of a Vendor" featured on World of Warcraft...
My short machinima video, “Life of a Vendor”, got featured in the World of Warcraft Europe community news* section. While this was a very pleasant surprise in itself, this also kicked the viewcount overnight from a few hundred to over two thousand, and two days later it’s now (in writing moment) at 11 970 views. In the world of YouTube that isn’t so impressive, but for...
The brick approach →
bobulate:
Unexpected wisdom from Will Smith talking with Charlie Rose on approaching tasks:
You don’t set out to build a wall. You don’t say I’m going to build the biggest, baddest, greatest wall that’s every been built. You don’t start there. You say I’m going to lay this brick as perfectly as a brick can be laid. …. You do that every single day, and soon you have a wall. (~23:00)

UI design and simplicity →
How too many details and too few details both ruin the recognizability of interface elements. Great read for anyone interested in designing for the web or computer interfaces in general.
Very interesting.

Appendix isn't useless at all: It's a safe house... →
Surprised that it took them this long to figure out that something in the body isn’t there for no reason. Sure, they thought it was a remnant of some lost organ or something along those lines, but come on, how likely was that?
Please take the bus?
“There’s a very high degree of pollution in the city. Will you consider taking the bus instead of driving your car?”
Various versions of this type of billboard has been posted along roads here in Bergen in Norway. But asking a person with a car to take the bus instead in this country is really pointless; it’s -21 degrees celsius and nobody in their right mind wants to walk...
Mistakes
“Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes.” - Oscar Wilde
I’d rather have it that way than to simply call it a mistake, move on and forget about it. If you do that, then there’s nothing to stop you from repeating that mistake all over again. So when mistakes happen, note them down as important experiences and then move on with your life.

2010 – Yet another reset
I did it again, folks. I reset the damn blog. But this time there is a better reason than just “clearing up the old clutter”; I’m fed up with maintaining a wordpress installation, so I’ve moved to tumblr for a much easier and more pleasant experience. If you’re interested in the old content for some reason, you can still find it in the pre-2010 archive.
You’ll...
